Prescription Fills and Refills

Getting a prescription filled at one of our Taylor Drug pharmacies is easy. Simply have your prescriber (doctor, dentist, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner) e-prescribe or fax your prescription to us, and we’ll work on it ASAP. If you were given a hand-written prescription, just drop it off, and within minutes, we’ll have it ready for you.

Refills are even easier to request. The simplest way to refill your prescriptions is by using our smartphone app, RxLocal. Simply download the app from your app store (android, apple, etc) and follow the instructions to set it up. You can also add all members of your family to the app to simplify your whole household’s prescriptions.

Don’t have a smartphone, or prefer other methods of requesting refills. We also offer a phone-based system which allows you to request refills with only your prescription number. If neither of the above methods suit you, you can call your chosen store, and speak with a pharmacy staff member who will gladly help you with your refill request.

Prescription Transfers

What if your prescription is already filled at another pharmacy? We can help your there too! Just give us a call, and we’ll contact the other pharmacy and have your prescription(s) transferred to Taylor Drug. To transfer you prescriptions, however; be aware that your pharmacy must be open during the time of the transfer. Legally, a transfer starts with a phone call to the pharmacist at the sending pharmacy, so they must be there.

Some medications cannot be transferred. For example, any controlled substance which is a CII controlled medication, most commonly narcotic pain medications or stimulants used for the treatment of ADD/ADHD. There are also other limitations which will gladly discuss with you.
